This was the sidearm of the USAF Security Police until the change over to the M9 in the mid-80s. I carried one as a dog handler for years. Great revolver; as most S&W offerings, made like a Swiss watch and very accurate. BTW, our course of fire required shooting to 25 yards (then, later, meters) both strong and weak sides. The fly in the ointment in the early 70’s was poor ammo, but when that was corrected, the courses of fire were easily done.
