As part of its WWII commemorative series, Auto-Ordnance this week unveiled their Custom “Squadron” 1911 pistol.
Made to look like American fighter planes from the Second World War, e.g. P-40 Warhawk, the Squadron 1911 features unforgettable “shark mouth” nose art on the muzzle and the Army Air Corps insignia on both sides of the slide, along with an engraved rivet pattern over the gun.
The pistol is chambered in .45 ACP, comes with checkered wood grips displaying the U.S. logo and a seven round magazine. The finish is a worn black and gray Cerakote.

“The overall appearance makes for a pistol that looks like a WWII fighter plane getting ready to race into the skies hunting bandits! Auto-Ordnance is proud to offer this latest custom 1911 in honor of the pilots who flew in defense of our nation during WWII,” said the Pennsylvania-based company in a press release. “May their bravery and sacrifice always be remembered!”
